One simple way to test your psychic powers is to use a pack of playing cards.

Spread the cards face down on the table.

Make your mind as carm as possible-any tension or strain will set up a mental block.

Pick a card at random and see if you can sense what it is.

Don't take to long over this. The first impression that pops into your mind is likely to be the correct one.

If you get no impression at all, You can stimulate your mind by asking yourself questions.

Do you sense that card is red or black? Is it a court card? Is there a lot printing on it or is it mainly blank?

you may get a mental picture; it may be just a knowing feeling; Don't try this exercise too many times in succession.

The mind quickly becomes strained and bored, and the concentration wavers.

Practice for a few minutes a day.

Believe that you can do it and you will not every time, but often enough to give you encouragement.

The same exercise can be tired using Tarot cards. The varied designs on the cards give the subconscious mind strong images to work on.

You may find that you pick up some small detail from the design rather than the complete picture.

As the Tarot is full of symbolism, the symbolic significance of the card may come into your mind.

At this stage don't attempt to give readings from the cards or foretell the future, either for yourself or for anyone else.

The Tarot requires long and complex study, as well as a highly developed intuitive skill in interpretation.

the results could be misleading, or worrying, should you happen to get a spread which seems to warn of miss fortune ahead.

Another method of practising is to try sense the content of any letters you receive without opening them.

Hold the envelope lightly between your fingers or press it to forehead.

See if  you can 'feel' what the letter is about or get an impression of the personality of the writer.

You can do a similar thing with your birthday and Christmas presents - Hold the parcel and try to sense what is inside of it.

If you become good at this it will drive your friends and family mad!

Colour can be very useful tool in developing psychic ability. Remember that whatever impressions you get are received at a subconscious level first, then filtered through to the conscious, and the subconscious is highly sensitive to colour.

Get some brightly coloured square of paper or cloth and put them into separate envelopes.

Obviously the envelope must be think enough so you can't see the through it.

Then hold one of the envelopes and try to sense what colour is inside.

You may find that some of the colours, those to which you are naturally drawn, are easier to 'pick up' than others
